Koftat Batata



Welcome again in the Palestinian kitchen.

Today we invite all of you to enjoy the taste of this delicious Palestinian food (koftat Batata).  
Potatoes in tomato’s sauce with meat balls
 

 
Recipe:

Serves:6 persons

Preparation time: 45 minutes

Cooking time: 30 minutes

 
Ingredients:

2 dl vegetable oil for deep frying

300 g minced meat( you should mincemeat with –small onion, 1clove garlic and parsley)

1 medium onion, cut in to small cubes

6 medium potatoes, cut in to large circles

400 g tomato’s juice

2 tablespoon tomato paste

2 tablespoon vegetable oil

2 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

5 dl warm water

Preparation:

Add salt, black pepper, spices, curry and olive oil to the minced meat and make small meat balls. Prepare the onion, potatoes and the tomato’s juice.

 Deep fry potatoes in vegetable oil until they turn to golden color.

Deep fry meat balls in the same oil that you used before.
 
 
In a large pot, heat 2 tablespoon Vegetable Oil, then add the onion  cubes, fry until they turn to golden color, add Tomato paste, tomato’s  juice  and warm water.
Wait until the sauce boiled, then add the potatoes and meat balls to the boiling sauce. Add the spices directly.

 
Low down the temperature and wait for 15 minutes.
Serve with white rice.
 

Cooking Tips:

You can add salt and spices as you like.

If you notice that you need more water you can add more but be careful not to add so much.
