Tormos (Lupin beans, arabic: ترمس)
Today am inviting you to the best
and the most healthy snack ever. It’s the Palestinian Tormos. It’s easy to
prepare at home and you will enjoy the taste for sure. We have sweet Tormos and
bitter tormos. The first one is easier to prepare because it will be ready to
eat in just one day. The bitter tormos need a whole week to be ready to eat.
But at the end I like both of them and I can wait a whole week to eat this
yummy weekend snack.
Ingredients:
1000 g. bitter tormos or sweet
tormos
2 tbsp. salt
1 tbsp. anise
Instructions:
· Wash
tormos and let it soak in plenty of water for more than 18 hours.
· Wash tormos again and then put it in a large pot. Then let it boil for five minutes.
· Get rid of boiling water and then wash tormos with cold water twice or three times until it’s cold.
· For the sweet tormos put it in a large glassy jar. Add salt and anise and plenty of water to cover tormos. You can start eating from it direct after two hours.
· For the bitter tormos it will take more time. You need to wash it after boiling until it’s cold. Then change water from two to four times each day for a whole week. Add salt, anise and plenty of water to cover tormos and keep it in the fridge. Start eating from it after two hours and enjoy this healthy weekend snacks.
